Happy Thanksgiving! I spent this morning watching the Macy's Day Parade. It is a Thanksgiving tradition for me and I think it may actually be one of my favorite parts of Thanksgiving! I loved seeing the new Olaf balloon this year, though my favorite balloons are always the elves before the Santa float. I just love how classic they are. After the parade ended, my dad, sister, and I worked on the yard so we can decorate it with Christmas decorations soon (as in tomorrow)! After cleaning up and getting ready, my mom had dinner ready! My mom put so much work into our Thanksgiving dinner and it was absolutely amazing! It was nice hanging out with my family. We played the game Wits and Wagers and hung out together in the living room!
I am so thankful for my family. They work so hard and I appreciate everything they do for me. This year has been pretty great and that is due to my fantastic family, friends, and my boyfriend. I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving day with family and friends!

For my birthday I received a book called "The 52 Lists Project" from my amazing boyfriend Ray. The book, created by Moorea Seal and her illustrators, has a list to fill out for each week of the year. Some of the lists are inspiring and thoughtful and others are fun and creative! For example, there is a list that says to list the qualities you admire most in others and another that says to list your top twenty mood-boosting songs. Since I received this book for my birthday, I definitely cannot wait to start it until New Year's Day. My boyfriend suggested starting with the week of my birthday and going from there. My birthday was in the 46th week of the year so I am starting with List 46. Throughout the week I will be listing my greatest comforts! What are your greatest comforts? I'll list a few of mine below. family Ray friends being home blankets candles fuzzy socks upbeat music coffee For the week of Thanksgiving (technically this week, 47), I will be listing the things that I am grateful for! Feel free to comment below and share. Have a happy Thanksgiving! On November 18th I turned twenty years old! I was so excited for my birthday and I had a wonderful day with my family and boyfriend! In the morning, I was woken up by my mom and sister. They asked me to wait just a couple of minutes before coming upstairs. Once I was allowed to come up, I walked into the kitchen and they had set up a birthday breakfast for me! We had cranberry orange scones, mini blueberry muffins, tea cookies, a quiche lorraine, mini bagels with a variety of cream cheeses (whipped plain, strawberry, and vegetable), and grapes. There was also apple juice, orange juice, coffee, tea, and hot cocoa available to drink! As we ate I opened my presents and talked with my mom and sister. It was so much fun! I received awesome gifts from my family! My sister, Jenny, gave me cooling gel eye pads, a rubber textured pad to clean my makeup brushes, and a body souffle soap (which is absolutely amazing!). From my family I got 2 super cute Christmas sweaters, a Simply Southern long sleeved shirt and a lanyard. I also got an amazing Michael Kors watch. I love it so much! I received a First Aid kit for my car (I am always banging myself up), a mirror for my handbag, and a pair of gold dangly earrings! The morning was absolutely perfect :) After breakfast, I got dressed in my new shirt and got ready to ice skate! My boyfriend, Ray, picked me up and we drove to the ice skating rink. On the way there I opened my gifts from Raymond! He gave me so many cool items! I got a rechargeable drawstring backpack, an external hard drive for my MAC (something I really need and have been wanting), a bluetooth karaoke mic (so cool!), a really cool list book which I will talk about in my next blog post, a movie for us to watch together, and an Anastasia brow gel (something else I have been wanting and I was so surprised he got it for me)! I haven't been ice skating in years so I was kind of nervous. I used to go a lot when I was little. Ray had only gone once before, so I was prepared for the both of us to fall! Luckily we had a great time and we didn't fall! We even got near the middle part of the rink and left the comforting support of the wall. Overall it was an absolute blast and we have already made plans to go again next month :) After ice skating we had funnel cake fries and Icee's. We then went to Home Goods and TJ Maxx just to look around! We got back to my house, worked on some homework (life as a college student), and then we went out to dinner with my family! We had a delicious dinner from Outback and the waiters sang happy birthday to me. We then headed home for cookie cake and ice cream. We played two games. One is called Wits & Wagers, which is a trivia and betting game. And then another game called Hedbanz. It was a hilarious game night and I had such a great birthday!
I am looking forward to having a wonderful 20th year! I am hoping for a productive, and exciting year with my family and friends :) |
